An American in Paris: My sister and I went to see An American in Paris. It was such an excellent show. The actors and actresses are truly a triple threat. They can act, sing, and dance. It’s like watching a combination between a beautiful ballet and a musical. I can understand why they’ve won twelve Tony’s including Best Musical! The musical is based upon the 1951 film by the same name. It’s a beautiful love story! I recommend going to the musical if you’re in NYC or watching the movie.
The Swedish Midsummer Festival: My friend Carrie and I went to The Swedish Midsummer Festival. There was dancing, make-your-own flower crown stations, authentic fiddlers, picnics, and food from Swedish restaurants. I basically learned the Swedish version of the Hora. We got to dance and watch the sunset on the pier in Battery Park. We kept saying that we felt like we were on vacation. There is something so special about exploring new parts of town and watching the boats go by.
Loopy Doopy: Carrie and I have been planning to go to Loopy Doopy since last summer and it was well worth the wait. The rooftop bar has a breathtaking view of the New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty. They are famous for their Prosecco and Ice Pop. It’s an alcohol-infused popsicle in a glass of prosecco. The popsicles are made by the famous company, People’s Pops.
FitBallet: I went to my first FitBallet class and absolutely loved it. It was perfect timing because I had already interviewed the founder, Julie! The class incorporates traditional ballet moves like plies, plies squats, and swan arms with circuit training and weights. It was such a fantastic workout. I’ll be writing a longer review soon.
Zumba: The Zumba team invited me to their first Zumba Summer event. I met other writers and bloggers and took a fantastic class. It is such a good workout and it’s fun! Time flies when you are dancing to great music. I felt like Beyonce but probably (definitely) looked more like the Taylor Swift dancing GIFS. I’ll also be writing a longer review.
Physique 57: I just finished reading Primates of Park Avenue and enjoyed the section about Physique 57. I signed up for a class on ClassPass and understand why Kelly Ripa and countless other celebrities consider it their go-to workout. I spent 57 minutes doing cardio, strength training, stretching and countless leg lifts and water skies. It was great. Although readers of Primates on Park Avenue should be warned that the class does include Evian, Lululemon, or a Wife Bonus. This is getting repetitive, but I’ll also be writing a longer review soon.
