Today is my birthday and I always spend a few minutes reflecting on the past year. Like with any year, there were some difficult times this year. Social media is a highlight reel and it can be hard not to compare yourself to other people or think everyone else has it all together — but most people don’t post photos of breakups, family illnesses, bad days at work, or times a source (or guy) ghosts.
This year hasn’t been perfect — no year is — but I feel so fortunate to have a great support system of friends and family who are there for the exciting moments like when I found out I was accepted at Columbia and the disappointing or sad moments that didn’t make the ‘gram. I’m excited to see what’s in store with them by my side!
