Confession: I didn’t buy business cards for my entire first year as a freelance writer. When I met people at events, I’d either write my information on a piece of paper and rip it out of my notebook, take their card and reach out to them, or have them put their info in my phone.
But when Basic Invite reached out about working together on a post, I knew that I wanted to order business cards to make it much easier to share my contact information at events. I customized my cards and made them light blue with navy print and a simple font. I used to think business cards were unnecessary, but it’s definitely been easier (and more professional) to have my new cards.
I included my name, that I’m a freelance journalist, my email address, my phone number, and the URL for Elana Lyn. I didn’t think of it at the time, but I’ll include my social media handles the next time I make a set.
Basic Invite also has customizable holiday cards, interesting business cards, stationery, printables, and wedding website designs.
