If you’ve been following along for awhile, you know that I love Kayla Itsines’ Bikini Body Guide. I did the Bikini Body Guide pre-training and completed her 12-week program twice. I took a break when I was training for a half-marathon, but I want to start up again. Her workout program makes me feel confident and strong. When I was invited to a private Bikini Body Guide Bootcamp with Kayla at the Oculus in NYC for the launch of Westfield’s Beauty & Balance program, I couldn’t type “yes” fast enough. I also got the opportunity to meet and interview Kayla for Forbes!
The Bikini Body Guide Bootcamp was right in the middle of the Oculus, so we attracted lots of attention as we did burpees and pushups galore. I spoke to the other women invited when we were waiting for the program to start and they all told me about the impact of the Bikini Body Guide community and showed me their progress photos over the years. One of the women even hosts Bikini Body Guide meetups in NYC so I definitely want to start going.
The Bikini Body Guide Bootcamp was so tough. It was an hour-long workout instead of the regular 28-minute Bikini Body Guide workouts that are either arms, legs, or abs. You do as many reps as possible for 30 seconds. First, we did a warm-up, then legs, abs, arms, two-minute challenges, and stretching. I don’t remember all of the exercises we did, but I think we did: star jumps, mountain climbers, high knees, double squat jumps, jumping jack planks, lunges, bicycle crunches, pushups, planks, commandos, straight leg raises, scissor kicks, snap jumps, and lay-down pushups. It was so tough and I was so sore the rest of the day and the rest of the day. I loved getting to meet Kayla and now I’m even more motivated to start up again and get more ingrained in the Bikini Body Guide New York City community. And I can’t wait for you to read our interview in Forbes!
