29

I’m spending some of my birthday in my happy place, Central Park. 27 was one of the hardest years for me personally and professionally. 28 may have been the best yet. I was surrounded by supportive, loving friends and family. I learned a lot about being my own best advocate, standing up for myself, and feeling confident. I celebrated almost two years at mllnl with some of the kindest, brightest, and most talented coworkers I’ve worked with to-date. I celebrated one year of writing for Women at Forbes and have interviewed almost 50 women I admire and written about topics I care about. I’ve gotten to know and love the Women at Forbes team and have been invited to some of the most inspiring events I’ve ever attended. I wrote about 50 career advice articles for Monster with a team that pushes me to be a better writer (and interview lots of sources)! I wrote for a number of my favorite publications like Fortune, Fast Company, Thrive, Popsugar, Brit + Co, The Huffington Post, and Business Insider. I faced some public speaking nerves by MCing a conference and speaking at the Lady Project Summit. I had the highest month of traffic ever for Elana Lyn, the blog that started it all, wrote hundreds of posts, and turned my freelance writing and blog into an LLC. I met so many amazing friends through Six Degrees Society. I completed a triathlon and, most importantly, am very happy. The best is yet to come.

TL;DR 29, I’m ready for you.
