Fitness Files: Lyons Den Power Yoga Review

I have a new favorite yoga studio: Lyons Den Power Yoga. It feels like a mix between hot yoga and the inspirational element of a SoulCycle class. (The SoulCycle connection makes sense because Bethany Lyons, the founder, was one of the original SoulCycle instructors).

The Workout:

The Lyons Den Power Yoga mission is to empower people to create connection and take action on what matters most to them by practicing Baptiste Yoga. Baptiste Yoga is designed to help people achieve consistent results in all aspects of their lives through focus, training, and insight. “A potent physical yoga practice, meditation practice, and active self-inquiry are used as tools of transformation, encouraging participants to reclaim their full potential, discover creativity, awaken passion, and create authenticity, confidence and new possibilities,” according to the Lyons Den Power Yoga site.

The classes are power vinyasa classes in a heated room that is 88-95 degrees and the vinyasa sequence is fast and the playlist is contemporary music. I love that the instructor shares inspirational words of wisdom throughout the class and that there is someone who comes around to assist with poses. Lyons Den Power Yoga has a variety of different classes and lengths. I really want to try the Power !%@$#! Beats class, which is yoga to hip hop and rap.

What to Wear and Bring:

Wear what you’d normally wear to a yoga class and bring a big water bottle. You don’t need to bring a yoga mat, yoga block, or a hot yoga towel. They have everything you need and showers.

What to Expect:

The Lyons Den Power Yoga classes are really empowering. You’ll leave in a much better mood because of the positive advice from the instructor, fun upbeat music, and all of the endorphins. I have taken two classes so far and have noticed that my shin feels a lot better after class because of the stretching and heat. I’m so excited because they gave me a few more classes! It is the perfect winter workout because you get a reprieve from the freezing cold!

Thank you for having me, Lyons Den Power Yoga!
