The Best Business Resources

These business resources are essential for staying organized and getting work done efficiently.

For Idea Management:

Use Trello. I was introduced to Trello by a friend, and let me say that it has been quite the lifesaver. I’m always getting ideas in the most random of places, so when I don’t have a trusted notebook and pen with me, I can head to my Trello board to organize my ideas and brainstorm. What I like most about Trello is that it allows you to build various lists and invite other people to provide feedback.

For Calendar Management:

Use YouCanBook.Me. While I love using Google Calendar, not everyone has Gmail. YouCanBook.Me gives you the opportunity to share your availability with your clients or customers easily. What’s even more awesome is that the appointments that you book via YouCanBook.Me automatically sync to your Google Calendar. Sunrise Calendar is another convenient, aesthetically beautiful calendar management app.

For Sales:

Use GoSpaces.com. If you sell tangible items like jewelry, art, or even clothing, GoSpaces.com allows you to create and customize a space. If you publish and sell original content like e-books, GoSpaces also gives you a community to showcase your work.

For Organizing Documents:

Use Google DriveDropbox, or Evernote. Both Google Drive and Dropbox are gems when it comes to collaborating with others and sharing your work.

For Promoting Your Work:

Use Buffer. A lot of the time, we find ourselves working so hard to produce, produce, produce that we neglect to promote what we’ve created! We like using Buffer because it is a hub for all of your social media accounts. Whether you’re ready to share a new blog post or put old content in rotation, Buffer allows you to share things across multiple platforms seamlessly.

For Networking:

Use Freelancers Union. I discovered the Freelancers Union earlier this year, and while I also have a full-time job, it’s a great resource for anyone who may be looking to make the jump to full-time freelancer in the near future. From how to create custom contracts, to what type of affordable healthcare options are available, use the Freelancers Union to connect with other freelancers nationwide. If you work remotely (or want to chat online instead of IRL) Slack is great for real-time messaging. Many startups use it for most internal communications to avoid an overflowing email inbox.
