Good Advice: March 2015

The purpose of the career profile series is to learn from likeminded, successful, driven women. The internet has revolutionized mentorship – I don’t think that you have to actually know someone to learn from their career path and experiences. I learn so much from reading people’s stories, following them on social media, and reading their blogs, articles, and books. I hope that you’ve found the career profiles to be as helpful as I have!

Without further ado, here are my favorite quotes from this month’s profiles:

“Work hard and be nice to people. You never know who is going to help you out later down the road or notice that extra three hours you put in one night to organize all of the photographs in the runway show look books. Being humble and grateful is always a plus, too.” –Kaitlyn Sullivan

“Be yourself. At this time in our life, it’s so easy to compare yourself to other young women and feel inadequate. You are on your own path at your own pace. Be happy with your experience, and if you aren’t happy, make a change.” –Danielle Leach

“Focus on the goals you have set, but don’t be afraid to change them. No matter how
big you’re dreaming, dreams can always become reality! Also, don’t compare yourself to
other brands too much. The best part of having your own business is that you can be
unique!” –Dana Gereboff

“Just remember, it’s not a straight and narrow path — there are ups and downs and twists and turns. Don’t hold on too tightly to any expectations about how you think your career is going to go, because you’re in for some fun surprises!” –Brooke Polson
