NYC Guide: Mast Brothers Factory Tour and Chocolate Tasting

On Saturday some friends and I went to the Mast Brothers Factory Tour and Chocolate Tasting. Mast Brothers was founded by two brothers in 2007. They get their cacao beans from small farms and cooperatives around the world. The cacao beans are hand sorted, roasted and ground, then aged and made into bars. The bars are unique because of the high quality beans and ingredients for the specialty bars like the Sea Salt or Stumptown Coffee Chocolate.  I’ve always loved their packaging and learned that all of the paper is designed by an in-house graphic designer!

The tour was informative and fun – plus the entire factory smelled amazing and we got to try the different flavors and learn about each. I definitely recommend it. We weren’t able to take pictures in the factory but I took some in the store.

Thanks Ms. Melanie! I miss you, let’s get together soon! Perhaps for CHOCOLATE.

  2. I am adding this to my list of things to do the next time I am in NYC! Since I am a choc-o-holic this could be dangerous. I LOVE the paper packaging – it’s so pretty and unique!
