The February Edit

This month went by so quickly and now we are even closer to spring! I can’t wait for warm weather, long bike rides, and walks in Central Park. I love reading people’s recommendations so here are my favorite things this month from some of the categories on Elana Lyn. I’d love to know yours!

Interior Design: I got this pillow from Furbish and it makes me smile every time I crawl into bed. I can’t find the exact pillow online anymore but they have lots of cute pillows!

Fashion: I searched forever to find an affordable (under $100) fisherman sweater and found the perfect one! I love the L.L. Bean Women’s Signature Cotton Fisherman Sweater. P.S. I love this photo of Gwenyth Paltrow in a fisherman sweater.

Beauty: I’ve been breaking out a bit and I bought the Neutrogena SkinClearing Mineral Powder and the Neutrogena SkinClearing Blemish Concealer. They are double-duty because they help to clear my skin while concealing the pimples. I usually swear by Laura Mercier Mineral Powder SPF 15 and the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage but that’s better when my skin is clearer. (Hopefully soon!)

NYC: My friend Jackie and I went to The Cooper Hewitt Museum. According to the website, “Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum is the only museum in the nation devoted exclusively to historic and contemporary design. The Museum presents compelling perspectives on the impact of design on daily life through active educational and curatorial programming.” We were there for a full afternoon and loved the new technology, art, and the fact that the museum is in an old mansion owned by Andrew Carnegie. (A close second was going to City Bakery with some friends to get the

FAMOUS hot chocolate).

Books: I read The Girl on the Train so quickly and absolutely loved it! I’ll be writing a review soon.

TV, Movies, and Music: Scandal, American Sniper, and The Fifty Shades of Grey Soundtrack.

Food: I loved this Cauliflower Taco Recipe and brunch at Lafayette.

Wellness: I went to a few new classes including Steep Rock Bouldering, Bikram Yoga NYC, Y7 Yoga, FlyWheel, Uplift, and Row House. I’ll be putting up longer reviews in the coming weeks. For wellness, I’ve swapped afternoon coffee for green tea because it has lots of antioxidants. Here’s a picture of me rock climbing 10 or so feet in the air like a badass.
