In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.

“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.”

Robert Frost

So you’ve been rejected.  It’s inevitable that it will happen at some point in your life.  Now you have to deal with it gracefully.

When life gives you lemons make lemonade (or, as I’m sure Chelsea Handler would say, when life gives you lemons put them in your vodka).  Look at the situation differently, this job opportunity/school/relationship didn’t work out, but now you have the perfect opportunity to reevaluate your life. People often say when God closes a door he opens a window (or as Roger Sterling from Mad Men says “when God closes a door he opens a dress”). Think about if that career path/relationship/school is really what you want. If it isn’t something that you are passionate about take a risk and try something new.  If it is what you want figure out what lessons you learned from the experience and use them to make the next experience better.

“Something we were withholding made us weak, until we found it was ourselves.” Robert Frost

“You’re always believing ahead of your evidence. What was the evidence I could write a poem? I just believed it. The most creative thing in us is to believe in a thing.” Robert Frost

“When the spent sun throws up its rays on cloud
And goes down burning into the gulf below,
No voice in nature is heard to cry aloud
At what has happened. Birds, at least must know
It is the change to darkness in the sky.
Murmuring something quiet in her breast,
One bird begins to close a faded eye;
Or overtaken too far from his nest,
Hurrying low above the grove, some waif
Swoops just in time to his remembered tree.
At most he thinks or twitters softly, ‘Safe!
Now let the night be dark for all of me.
Let the night be too dark for me to see
Into the future. Let what will be, be.”
Robert Frost

Hope is not found in a way out but a way through.”  Robert Frost

Rebellion against your handicaps gets you nowhere. Self-pity gets you nowhere. One must have the adventurous daring to accept oneself as a bundle of possibilities and undertake the most interesting game in the world — making the most of one’s best. Harry Emerson Fosdick

When you fail you learn from the mistakes you made and it motivates you to work even harder.  Natalie Gulbis

When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on. Thomas Jefferson

  2. Excellent blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost
on everything. Would you advise starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a
paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally
    overwhelmed .. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    • Thank you so much! I do have some hints – I’ll write up a post! I would definitely recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress. You can even buy a premium WordPress package for access to more perks. Please send me a link when you get started – I want to follow along!
